Physical Activity Policies
In accordance with policies (Education Code, 28.004 (k)) at EHAB, EHAC, EHBG, [and FFA], the district will ensure that students in full-day pre-kindergarten through grade 5 engage in moderate or vigorous physical activity for at least 30 minutes per day or 135 minutes per week.Students in middle or junior high school will engage in 30 minutes of moderate or vigorous physical activity per day for at least four semesters OR at least 225 minutes of moderate or vigorous physical activity within each two-week period for at least four semesters.The Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD SHAC Committee routinely meets at least four times per year.Eagle Mountain-Saginaw complies with all vending/a la carte/competitive food regulations contained in the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act. All vending programs are in compliance with all applicable USDA regulations.Students in the possession of tobacco are subject to the Student Code of Conduct and the consequences thereof.Parents may request, in writing, their child's physical fitness assessment (Fitnessgram) results at the end of the school year.For additional information on the district’s requirements and programs regarding elementary, middle, and high school student physical activity requirements, please see the campus principal.

Off-Campus PE Program
The Off-Campus PE Program is a partnership between Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District and approved off-campus agencies that provide activities such as dance, diving, equestrian, fencing, gymnastics, yoga, lacrosse (high school club teams in the spring semester only), martial arts, rock climbing, rowing, swimming, and tennis. Only practice hours may count towards the state-required time.Click here to read more and to access the application.
